About Us

The D.E.W. Clinic was proposed in 2009 in response to the overwhelming diabetes epidemic facing Detroit’s underserved and underinsured population. Due to the efforts of students, faculty members, community mentors, industry benefactors and countless other sponsors, the clinic was opened on January 24, 2011.

Originally proposed by a team of Wayne State University Occupational Therapy students, the D.E.W. Clinic has grown to include Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Dietetics, Social Work, Law and Medicine. These disciplines work together to provide personalized care and educational resources for patients, clinical experience for students, and research opportunities for Wayne State University.

The clinic is open on the first Monday of each month from 4:30 - 6:00 pm.**

**Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are currently holding virtual telehealth visits while we look for an alternative on-site location.
